Listening to the Client's childhood memories about gathering around an outdoor fireplace, and seeing their growing passion for gardening, RKA created a project that transformed this rear yard into an English Garden that features a new greenhouse, expanded patio, new masonry fireplace, new cedar fence and new planting beds. Curved stone capped brick walls extend from the brick fireplace froming functional firewood niches, while providing an embrace for those that gather on the adjacent bluestone patio. These low brick walls also form the base of the walls of the classic greenhouse with its ornamental finials. The perforated upper section of the surrounding cedar fence allows passerby to enjoy the everblooming garden as they peek in from the nearby sidewalk.
