Bellpoint United Methodist Church commissioned Rogers Krajnak Architects, Inc. to prepare a Master Site Plan for a new church facility to be located on a recently purchased parcel of scenic farmland near Delaware, Ohio. The proposal includes a primary structure that incorporates a Worship Center, education wing, lobby, and administration space. The future expansion phase allows for a new gymnasium and the growth of the Worship Center and education wing.
The building design takes several cues from the site. First, the two building wings are angled outward to welcome people into the structure as well as allowing the building to follow the contours of the site. Second, the building uses a deep overhang over the central gathering space to shade harsh direct southern sunlight while allowing the lobby to be filled with indirect daylight. The location of the building also maximizes the visibility from the two bordering roads, permits future facility expansion, and allows for ample garden and recreation areas.
