OHIOHEALTH BING CANCER CENTER - MEDITATION SPACE
Columbus, OH
<< Back to Project List
Rogers Krajnak Architects designed the meditation space as a calming, contemplative space at the base of the light filled atrium in OhioHealth’s Bing Cancer Center. Visitors enter the multi-denominational meditation space along a curved path between two illuminated glass panel walls that depict symbols, prayerful hands and images of people from five major religions of the world: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism. The tallest glass panel includes an image of a cairn, a configuration of stacked stones marking a path, which is intended to offer encouragement to patients and families on their healing journey. Visitors are invited to leave a polished pebble on the specially designed wood shelves that adorn one wall in the meditation room in recongition of the prayers for their family member.
