RKA developed this series of studies for an 1800 sq. ft. program structure to support a variety of events at a Metro Parks botanical garden. The structure will provide shelter, permanent storage and display space for various educational workshops, presentations and events that currently occur within a 30' x 60' temporary tent. The form of the roof in the final design was inspired by the wings of a butterfly. The structure's materials were selected for durability, performance and the ability to harmonize with the surrounding landscape and adjacent garden structures. |
